Edvard Munch was born at 12th December 1863 in Ådalsbruk, Norway.
His work is based on some of the main tenets of late 19th-century Symbolism and greatly influenced German Expressionism in the early 20th century.
His paintings show mostly the psychological experience and bypass the reality as we know it.
Munch painted his most popular work at 1893. The Scream became a symbol of existential suffering.
